Who was Margot?
Margot was an enthusiastic and dedicated collector of all kinds of reborns, outfits and prams. Her hobby started when the last of her five children moved out, and over the years her collection quietly grew bigger and bigger.
On 4 November 2024, our mom Margot passed away very suddenly, only a few hours after being taken to hospital. We had little time to say goodbye. On top of the shock and grief, we were left with the responsibility of dealing with everything she left behind. One important part of that is her large reborn collection, which we carefully packed and stored so we could decide later what to do.
Why did you create this adoption program?
Her reborns were always special to her. Even if we didn't fully understand it, we supported her. We saw the struggles of trying to find the "right" baby, trusting sellers in other countries and dealing with the occasional scam. None of that stopped her.
From what we've seen and heard, the reborn community is open, caring and warm - and that's exactly what we experienced when we reached out for advice after she passed.
Because we can't ask her what she would want, we had to make our best guess. We're sure she wouldn't want her babies to stay in boxes forever. She would want them to be loved again, and she would definitely want us to give something back to the community that made her so happy.
What happens with the proceeds?
Margot also loved parrots, so part of the proceeds from each adoption will be donated to a parrot shelter in the Amsterdam area. The other part will go to her children and grandchildren.
Important information for adopters
- These are pre-loved reborns. Some of them could use a little TLC from their new parent. We've tried to show each baby honestly with clear, detailed photos and descriptions.
- Margot was a smoker. We have washed the clothes and cleaned the dolls, but they do come from a smoking home. A light smell may still be noticeable and should fade further with time and care.
- Prices are set with direct input from the reborn community (we had no idea) and listed as a minimum adoption fee / starting price. This way there is something for different budgets and we give as many babies as possible a chance at a new home.
- All reborns are sold as-is. Please look carefully at the photos and read the descriptions before adopting, as we're not able to offer refunds.
How does the adoption process work?
Each doll has a starting adoption fee listed. You can place a bid at or above this amount. If you're interested in adopting one of Margot's babies, simply register for an account, browse the available dolls, and place your bid on the ones that speak to you.
We'll review all bids and contact successful adopters to arrange payment and shipping details.
If you prefer not to create an account, you can also place a bid with only your email address and confirm it through the link we send you.
